    Dublin Castle

Dublin Castle was once a Danish Fortress. The castle was built between 1208 and 1220, however little of the original structure is still standing today: A curtain wall and two towers remain. Several areas within the castle are open for tours including "The Chapel Royal," "The Undercroft," "The Garda (Police) Museum " and "The Chester Beatty Library." Restaurants and a gift shops are also located within the castle.

    Powerscourt Estate and Gardens

Powerscourt Estate and Gardens are located south of Dublin in the Wicklow Mountains. The formal gardens, ornamental lakes, terraces and other stunning features span approximately 45 acres - the gardens are truly the main attraction here. The estate home still stands, but was destroyed on the interior by a massive fire in 1974.
