+ My Favorites
Dublin's Christ Church Cathedral dates back to 1038 when a wooden structure was built in this location by King Sitric. After the Norman invasion in 1169 the structure was replaced with stone. The church has been visited over the centuries by many religious and political figures including King Richard II, James II and King Billy. The church is open for visiting daily. Custom House + My Favorites
The Custom House, originally built in 1791, is one of Dublin's most fascinating nighttime sights when it is illuminated by floodlights. In 1921, during the War of Independence, the building was destroyed by a fire. The majority of the building's interior was redesigned, however the areas that remain as they were originally are open for touring. Historical displays are located throughout the building.
