    Dublin Writers' Museum
    Held within a restored Georgian house, visitors will find a variety of memorablia for Ireland's Nobel prize winning and most famous authors: Shaw, Yeats, Wilde, Sheridan, Joyce, Swift, Behan and Beckett. Books, letters, portraits and other personal items are available for viewing. An area of the museum is also devoted to children's literature.

    National Gallery of Ireland

    The National Gallery of Ireland is home to a large collection of Irish art and European artworks. Mediums include painting, sculpture, works on paper, glass and more. Tours of the gallery are offered, but must be booked well in advance. Admission is free.

    Irish Museum of Modern Art

    The Irish Museum of Modern Art is housed within the Royal Hospital in Kilmainham (an historic 17th century building). The museum's collection includes both permanent and changing exhibits in a variety of mediums including etchings, engravings and wood cuttings. The works of famous artists such as Manet, Degas and Renoir are also featured.

    The National Library of Ireland contains the world's largest collection of Irish related exhibits in the world. The library is open free of charge and holds art, photographs, music and more, in addition to its large educational library.

    Chester Beatty Library

    The Chester Beatty Library is an art museum and library which houses the great collection of manuscripts, miniature paintings, prints, drawings, rare books and decorative arts assembled by Sir Alfred Chester Beatty (1975-1968). His collection is housed in the grounds of Dublin Castle in a restored 18th century building with a modern purpose-built block attached. The Library was named Irish Museum of the Year in 2000 and was awarded the title European Museum of the Year 2002.
